Former
Deputy Commander of NATO, General Sir Richard Shirreff, said that
Russian President Vladimir Putin could trigger World War (PD) III any
time by deciding to invade Poland in a matter of hours. Putin is said to have troops ready to launch a hostile takeover lightning Eastern Europe in order to trigger a global conflict.

"It is clear that Russia is able to surprise the West with potentially devastating implications for eastern Poland and to fatal consequences for the alliance," he said as quoted by the Daily Express, Sunday (24/07/2016).
Shirreff even say that the troop surge Moscow could have gone to Poland and cutting the combined defense of the Baltic countries, including Lithuania and Latvia, cut both of the alliance.
Told Shirreff, the only way to prevent Putin created a major conflict in Eastern Europe is to increase significantly the number of troops in Poland. The existence of these forces requires a large deployment of United States (US) and the United Kingdom.
"There is an urgent need to strengthen the Polish defense capabilities to reduce the temptation of Russia made a surprise raid in the spring. Members of NATO does not have enough time to build various capabilities required to survive in order to prevent a revival and the aggressive nature of Russia," he said.
