Ministry of Defense to prepare a sophisticated fighting force to
respond to the provocations of the NATO military buildup in Eastern
Europe. This was revealed by Russian Defense Minister, General Sergey Shoigu.
General Shoigu even divulge a number of Russian fighting force that has been deployed to face the worst possible in clashes with NATO.
"For the past few years, the political situation in the military-strategic area southwest has increased. It mainly deals with the NATO military buildup in Eastern Europe, the situation in Ukraine and the activities of international terrorist groups, including those in the North Caucasus, "said Shoigu.
"So, we must take adequate measures," continued Shouigu, as quoted from Pravda.ru, Thursday (28/07/2016).
According to him, there is a significant change in Russian military training, where more than 200 exercises have been conducted in the Southern Military District since 2013.
He continued, for the current four divisions, nine brigades and 22 regiments had been formed. In addition, two missile brigade equipped with Iskander missile-M, has been created.
Russian Defence Minister also noted that the number of military service men of the group more than doubled this year.
"A group of independent forces have been deployed in Crimea. More than 4 thousand samples of new weapons and military equipment have been sent to South Military Department. Troops missile complex and sophisticated submarines have also been deployed, "said Shoigu.
